Annual Career Week Begins at SC State

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The SC State University Career Center is currently hosting Career Week through Friday, September 27. The week of events includes a networking session hosted by Zesus Industrial Products Inc., classroom information sessions, a Career Day Extravaganza and interviews.


The class discussions range from topics on social media and email etiquette to resume writing, the application process and workplace etiquette. The discussions will be led by professionals and there will be interviews by employers and graduate school representatives.

The purpose of Career Week is to provide an opportunity for students to enhance their soft skills, engage and explore a wide variety of internships, co-ops, full-time and graduate school opportunities. Over 75 professionals have confirmed their participation in the Career Day Extravaganza, which will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.


Various organizations and corporations will be on site. In addition to Fortune 500 company, Boeing, representatives from BMW Manufacturing, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and the FBI will be in attendance. Military representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marines Corps and U.S. Navy will also attend. Graduate and professional schools such as the Citadel Graduate College and the University of South Carolina School of Law will be present.
