Campus Organizations & Clubs
Chartered in 1939, the South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP is the leading civil rights organization in the state of South Carolina! As a part of the oldest and largest civil rights organization in the country, you'll take part in meetings and events with union leaders, civil rights change-makers, young professionals, and activists to eliminate racial prejudice and improve political, educational, social, and economic equality.
101 Black Men
The 101 Black Men of SCSU Society is a distinguished brotherhood for men on the campus of SC State University. At a time when young Black men were the subject of racial police profiling and injustices around the United States, 101 Black Men of SCSU Society was established as an advocacy origanization.

Concert Choir
The Concert Choir spans the years of music history from the 16th century to the present,
including music of all types and styles, including sacred, secular, folk songs, love
songs, play songs, work songs, and more. We place special emphasis on the choral music
of Black Heritage.

Concert Band
The SC State Concert Band is composed of 50 members. The Concert Band tours throughout the Southeast, performing a variety of standard and contemporary pieces.
Jazz Ensemble
The South Carolina State University Jazz Ensemble consists of approximately 30 members. It tours the Southeast performing traditional and contemporary jazz music.
Marching 101 Band
The SC State "Marching 101" is known from coast to coast. The members have entertained
tens of thousands of spectators at football games throughout the southeast, and millions
by way of nationally televised professional football games!

SC State's ESPN Orangeburg, WJPK 1580 AM / 92.9 FM offers you an opportunity to gain
valuable experience, working with an ESPN affiliate. The station broadcasts the national
ESPN Radio lineup, live coverage of sporting events (National Football League, Major
League Baseball, National Basketball Association, college football playoffs), as well
as coverage of local college and high school sports. As a crew member, you'll cover
live local sporting events, and learn sports reporting and other behind-the-scenes
operations.
