Krystal N. Brown is a dedicated school counselor and student advocate committed to empowering young people to achieve academic, career, and personal success. As a School Counselor at the Newberry County Career Center, she advises students in academic, career, and social-emotional development while coordinating districtwide tours and collaborating with educators, families, community stakeholders, and advisory committees to expand student opportunities. Her work reflects a passion for preparing students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Brown previously served for eight years as a School Counselor at Dutch Fork High School, where she guided students through Individual Graduation Plan meetings and provided comprehensive counseling services to support their educational and personal goals. Her commitment to student development began at South Carolina State University, where she served as a Graduate Resident Coordinator, mentoring first-year students and fostering a safe, inclusive residential community. She also coached the University's cheerleading program, helping develop student-athletes both on and off the mat.
A two-time South Carolina State University graduate, Brown continues her commitment to mentoring young people through her service as Delta GEMS Co-Chair for the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, empowering and preparing the next generation of young women for success.
