We are committed to your needs.

Counseling CenterTherapy can be a difficult thing to admit to needing; that's understandable! Our staff is committed to providing a non-judgmental environment, in which you can talk about concerns that impact your overall well-being.

We are trained in different ways to help. Everything we do is based on research and is proven to decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress.

In addition to our clinical training, we like to have fun! The healing journey is a lot at times, so creating an atmosphere of acceptance, joy, and impactful work is what we are about.

Your options for therapy include both in-person and virtual options.

Timely Care

South Carolina State University has entered a partnership with TimelyMD to offer students free and equitable access to mental health support through the TimelyCare platform.  As an enhancement to the on-campus services offered by SC State’s Counseling and Self-Development Center, TimelyCare serves as a 24/7 virtual extension of resources to improve student well-being, engagement, and retention.

Current SC State students have free, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare. Students do not need insurance to access TimelyCare services. The service is not available to faculty and staff members, parents, family members or the community.

After downloading the TimelyCare app, students can access TimelyCare services 365 days a year. That means access during breaks, after-hours, and anytime you need support. TimelyMD is not meant, however, to assist in emergencies or crisis situations. If you believe you are in immediate danger, please dial 911.

If you are an SC State student seeking mental health support, please use your SCSU email to register for our TimelyCare app to schedule a session with a licensed professional and/or access mental health resources:
