General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) provides legal advice to the University’s Board of Trustees, administrators, faculty, and staff regarding legal matters affecting or involving the University.

This office also provides assistance to the university’s administration in the formulation of university policies. OGC does NOT  provide guidance or counsel to students, parents, or employees for personal matters. Please mark communications to the OGC as “Attorney-Client Privileged/Confidential” and please do NOT share our communications with third parties.

The Office of General Counsel handles all incoming requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), background checks from Federal agents, and all subpoenas. To request information, complete the FOIA Form.
