Coach Eatman is an accomplished and passionate figure in the world of women's basketball. With a career spanning several decades, he has left a profound impact on the teams he has coached and the players he has mentored. He joined South Carolina State University with great enthusiasm, eager to build upon the women's basketball program's past successes and create a bright future for the Bulldogs.
During the 2018-19 season, he stepped into the role of acting head coach at Rutgers, leading the team to its highest-ever Big 10 finish and its first-ever Big 10 Tournament semifinal appearance. Under his guidance, Rutgers returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.
Coach Eatman's expertise in recruiting has been exceptional, bringing in 11 top 30 recruiting classes throughout his career. His efforts were recognized by Lindy's Magazine, naming him the nation's top recruiter while at Iowa in 1994. Many of his former players have gone on to excel at the next level, with six of them playing in the WNBA and 13 pursuing coaching careers. His coaching journey began as the head women's coach at Talladega College, where he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for his alma mater's program. Over the years, Coach Eatman has served in various coaching capacities at notable institutions, including Mississippi State, University of Houston, Kansas, Illinois-Chicago, Louisville, and Arkansas.
