What Will You Study as an Accounting Major?

Students are expected to solve problems, make oral presentations, complete written assignments and complete group projects throughout the curriculum. Although 150 hours are required to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in South Carolina, students are prepared to sit for the CPA Exam after they complete the undergraduate curriculum.

Student life organizations connected with the program include the Beta Alpha Psi Honor organization for accounting majors and NABA. 

What Can You Do with an Accounting Degree?

90% of accounting majors from South Carolina State University are employed or attend graduate school within six months of receiving their bachelor’s degree. Graduates typically go to work for CPA firms or other prestigious accounting firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), KPMG, Deloitte and BDO.
