David Jamison
Dr. David Jamison is an associate professor of marketing at South Carolina State University.
He has also served as the interim chair of the Department of Business Administration (2003-07 and 2012-13) and MBA program director (2011-2012). He is international programs coordinator for the College of Business and Information Systems and program director for a US Department of Education, Business and International Education grant awarded to SC State in fall 2021.
Jamison began working at SCSU in the year 2000. He taught marketing previously at the University of Florida from 1993 to 2000.

Research Interests
Jamison’s research interests include the relationship between material culture and personal and group identity, the impact of Western models of consumption on developing and traditional societies and the role of ethnicity in directing consumption behaviors.
Publications & Grants
Jamison has published in several academic journals including The Journal of Macromarketing, The Journal of African Business, Annals of Tourism Research, The Academy of Marketing Studies Journal , The Southeast Case Research Journal, The Journal of Business Education and several academic conference proceedings. He has been the recipient of several research and travel grants that have resulted in research projects and academic presentations in Canada, Mexico, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, India, China and a number of domestic venues. Jamison has also led and organized and led short term study abroad trips with SC State business students to South Africa and Botswana, China, Europe, and Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana and Kenya.
