Jesulon Gibbs-Brown, J.D./Ph.D.

Dr. Jesulon Gibbs-Brown serves as interim dean of the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.

She also is a graduate-level associate professor of educational leadership and program coordinator for the Department of Educational Leadership. Dr. Gibbs-Brown had the pleasure of advising educators pursuing an advanced degree leading to  principal and/or superintendent licensure and chairing dissertation committees for students completing their doctorates.

Background

Dr. Gibbs-Brown has worked at South Carolina State University for 10 years. In addition, Gibbs-Brown has served as an of-counsel school law attorney, assistant professor at the University of South Carolina, state director for the Office of School Transformation at the South Carolina State Department of Education, and school district superintendent for five years.

Research Interests

Education/school law; education policy analysis; and educational leadership - superintendency.
