Miriam Evans

Dr. Miriam Evans is an assistant orofessor in the Department of Health Sciences where she teaches health education courses. She also serves as the academic program coordinator for the department where she has administrative responsibility for the coordination of academic program elements such as annual program assessment activities and curriculum development requiring collaboration with students, faculty, and other departments and programs.

Dr. Evans also serves as an adjunct professor in the Master of Business Administration- Healthcare Management Program.

Background

Dr. Evans has been a faculty member at South Carolina State University since August 2005. During this time, she has served as the Quality Enhancement Plan director for the university, conducted research focusing on children's environmental health, Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, and implemented health promotion programs within the community.  public health; children’s environmental health; school and community health education; health promotion program planning, implementation & evaluation; health disparities; Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
