Background
He has been a member of the SC State faculty since 2015.
Before his tenure at SC State, Mack served for more than 25 years as a K-12 administrator in districts across the country. He began his education career as a teacher and coach in Savannah Public Schools and spent nearly two decades with DeKalb County Schools in Georgia, holding roles from teacher to assistant superintendent. He later led school districts in Dayton, Ohio, and Columbia, South Carolina, as superintendent, overseeing urban, suburban and rural schools.
In Dayton, Mack led a successful campaign that led to the construction of all new school buildings. His leadership earned national recognition, including being named Superintendent of the Year by the National Alliance of Black School Educators. He is also a member of the Richland One School District Hall of Fame.
