Stevo Bozinovski

Dr. Stevo Bozinovski is a professor of computer science at South Carolina State University. He also serves as the coordinator for Biocomputing and Bioinformatics Robotics and Embodied Intelligence minors. In addition, he is the Head of the Center for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence, which includes two labs: the Lab for Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Biocybernetics in the Computer Science program, and the Lab for Medical Science and Neurophysiology in the Biology program.

Dr. Bozinovski has been a distinguished member of SC State University for more than 20 years, Before joining SC State, he gained valuable experience working at renowned institutions such as IBM Bayreuth in Germany, the University of Massachusetts/Amherst in the USA, University Cyril and Methodius in Skopje, Macedonia, and the German National Center for Information Technology in Sankt Augustin, Germany.  Throughout his career, Dr. Bozinovski has made significant contributions to the field of robotics and computer science. Notably, in 2002, SC State achieved a groundbreaking world-first by implementing Internet-based control of a robot and distance learning robotics education. Students from Macedonia were able to control a robot in the SCSU lab Nance Hall 218, marking a remarkable milestone in the advancement of robotics education.

Additionally, in the same year, Dr. Bozinovski and his team accomplished another remarkable feat - the world's first robotic selfie. A robot in SCSU's Nance Hall 218 carried a camera and presented itself to students in Macedonia using a mirror, showcasing the potential of robotics technology in creative and innovative ways.

Furthermore, Dr. Bozinovski's expertise extends into the field of neural interfaces. In 2019, his significant achievements in this area were recognized by the prestigious Royal Society of London. His pioneering work included the 1988 achievement of the first-ever control of a robot using EEG signals, showcasing his profound impact on the field.
