Dr. Valerie Nwadeyi
Valerie Nwadeyi joined South Carolina State University in 2024 as a Nuclear Science Researcher and the Co-Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Solutions (CEES).
Having worked for Savannah River National Laboratory she brings a breadth of expertise in nuclear material control and accountability (NMC&A), radiation waste management, and radiation health safety.
Her research focus includes radiation detection, imaging, and simulation, specializing in CdZnTe semiconductor detectors, list-mode data analysis, and advanced imaging algorithms and processing.
Education
She has a MS and PhD in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences from the University of Michigan, and a BS in Nuclear Engineering from South Carolina State University.
