Venetia Lyles
Dr. Venetia Lyles is an associate professor of chemistry at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. She also serves as the Director of the Savannah River Environmental Sciences Field Station, the only Historically Black College or University undergraduate environmental science field station in the nation and program coordinator for the chemistry program. In these roles, she is helping move both programs into the new age of learning by incorporating a holistic use of technology to benefit both faculty and students.
Background
Before her current position as Director/associate professor, Dr. Lyles served as an adjunct professor at SCSU. She received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Louisiana State University studying the chemical and electronic properties of organic molecules using scanning probe techniques. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority Inc.
