Brandi J. Blake is a mission-driven leader and organizational strategist with a decade of experience advancing inclusive practices in higher education, K–12, and nonprofit sectors.
She is the founder and principal consultant of People Culture Power LLC, where she advises community-based organizations and nonprofits on culturally responsive engagement strategies, delivers keynote addresses, and facilitates workshops on inclusive collaboration.
Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Intercultural Organizational Development for Charleston County School District, leading cultural competency efforts for 80+ schools and launching the district’s first required diversity training for over 5,000 employees.
Previously, Brandi held leadership roles at George Mason University, where she spearheaded racial justice initiatives and led student-centered DEI programming. Her early career includes service as Assistant Director of Residence Life at Coker College, where she coordinated new student programs and campus-wide diversity initiatives. Across each role, Brandi has demonstrated a strong commitment to equitable systems and cross-sector collaboration.
She is a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE®), Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator, and a trained facilitator with the National Coalition Building Institute. Brandi has presented at state and national conferences and contributed to grant-funded projects that promote student success and inclusive leadership.
Her community leadership includes serving as Vice President and Membership Chair of the Dorchester County Alumni Chapter of South Carolina State University and a board member of Fetter Health Care Network. She is a Charleston Regional Business Journal Forty Under 40 honoree, a Charleston Business Magazine Best & Brightest Under 35 honorees, and the 2023 Education Honoree of the Black Excellence Community Awards. Additional recognitions include Citizen of the Year from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated (Mu Alpha Chapter), and the University of West Georgia’s Thriving Under 30 Award.
