Glenda A. Johnson is a mission-driven educator, veteran, and community advocate whose career reflects an unwavering commitment to children, families, and faith. With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, she currently serves as an ERSEA Specialist with Berkeley-Dorchester Head Start, where she manages recruitment, enrollment, and compliance across 11 program sites. In this role, she not only ensures operational accuracy and adherence to federal Head Start standards, but also trains staff, guides family engagement efforts, and champions equitable access to early learning opportunities. 
 
Glenda’s leadership extends beyond the classroom. As a U.S. Army National Guard veteran with nine years of service, including a deployment to Afghanistan, she exemplifies discipline, resilience, and dedication to serving others. Her professional journey also includes roles as a preschool teacher, mentor, and trainer, each shaped by her belief in the transformative power of education and community support. 
 
A creator and entrepreneur at heart, Glenda founded Huger-Wando Youth Advocates and MsJ’s Walk/Run Group to promote youth empowerment and wellness, and she is the owner of MsJ’s Photography, LLC. She is also pursuing her calling in ministry, studying toward her Master of Divinity while serving as a lay leader with plans to become an elder. Her professional and personal endeavors are grounded in service, faith, and a vision for stronger families and communities. 
 
Glenda’s impact is also reflected in her involvement with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., her recognition as a motivational youth speaker, and her commitment to mentorship. Whether in education, military service, entrepreneurship, or ministry, she brings excellence, integrity, and compassion to every space she enters, standing as a role model for future generations.
