With more than a decade of experience in financial services and benefits administration, Jekela S. Burgess has built her career on service, leadership, and the ability to guide others through complex processes with care and clarity. She currently serves as a Benefits Administrator, where she also functions as a senior customer service representative, retirement specialist, supervisor, and business instructor/trainer. In this role, she leads new hire onboarding, supports employees and retirees in navigating benefit options, and ensures quality service through training and reporting.

Previously, Burgess gained valuable experience with major banking retailers, serving in both branch and call center operations.  Her responsibilities included loan origination, account support, home mortgage servicing, and property loss claims. Recognized for her dedication, she has received multiple awards, including Wells Fargo’s Shared Success Award, On the Watch Achievements, and Certificate of Appreciation. In her current role,  she was honored with the Excellence Everyday Award in 2020.  Now, a published author, she has tailored her love for Arts and Outreach to empower the following generations.

A proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Burgess is also affiliated with Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and Kappa Pi National Honorary Art Fraternity, where she was a charter member. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts with a concentration in ceramics and sculpture, and a minor in art education, from South Carolina State University in 2010.
