SC State President Conyers joins LOWVELO Bike Ride for cancer research
ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University President Alexander Conyers (pictured above, second from right) joined students and other volunteers in the LOWVELO Bike Ride on campus Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The event raised funds for cancer research at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hollings Cancer Center in Charleston, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in South Carolina. LOWVELO organizers asked each student rider/volunteer to make a $5 donation. Faculty, staff, alumni, and local citizens were each asked to donate $10 or more.
Forty bikes were available, and riders or teams of riders were asked to make seven laps around the SC State campus.
