Research & Sponsored Programs

As part of our founding mission as a land grant university, South Carolina State University has a division devoted to research and outreach for the benefit of our state, nation, and world. SC State professors and full-time researchers delve into a wide variety of subjects, including transportation, science, the arts, history, agriculture, and more, all for the purpose of providing data and real-world solutions to issues faced by our community and country.

Both graduate and undergraduate students have opportunities to conduct research with experts here on campus, as well as from outside the university. Many go on to participate in groundbreaking research during summer institutes and internship programs.

Our Research and Outreach services have a great deal to offer to both our students and members of the community (including professionals such as scientists, entrepreneurs, farmers, business people, educators, and more).

The research efforts of our faculty bring millions of dollars to the university each year for projects that include agriculture, transportation, community health and more.
