Summer School

Looking to get ahead and graduate early? Need to take a couple of extra courses to improve your grade point average (GPA)? Did you change majors or add a second major and need to catch up on some required courses? Then consider Summer School at South Carolina State University. Encompassing multiple sessions conveniently scheduled in person and online to meet your needs, SC State's summer term offers a great opportunity for you to take more control over your education.

As you can earn up to 18 semester credit hours per summer, Summer School offers multiple learning opportunities and advantages. Current students can earn credits toward their major and complete their education faster, they can take classes for additional credit to improve their GPA, or even delve into topics or courses outside their chosen major. Incoming first-year students can take summer classes to get ahead on their courses. Even students visiting from other schools can take courses at SC State during the summer and earn credit hours towards their degree.

A wide variety of courses are offered in each summer session. To view this year's options, please view our schedule of courses. You can also view this year's Summer School Calendar.
