Maybe you want to study English for teaching because becoming an educator is a dream you’ve long had. Or maybe you want to undertake the teaching of English in another setting. South Carolina State University’s Bachelor of Science in English Education can get you there.

Our English Education major program is designed to help students become role models for future scholars and leaders. From courses on educational psychology and teaching methods to Shakespeare and African American writers, you will develop the teaching of English training required to excel in teaching English in K–12 schools and other settings.

As an English Education major, you’ll explore the latest research theories in English language arts and utilize this knowledge in field experiences in the classroom and beyond. Our English for teaching program offers the effectiveness of traditional face-to-face learning for some courses, along with hybrid formats for other courses, and an asynchronous online format for some literature courses.
