Spring Commencement
Important Information for Graduating Seniors and Families
South Carolina State University will hold its 2025 Fall Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, Dec, 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the graduating seniors. Each candidate for graduate has been issued eight tickets for family and friends to attend.
Graduating students will receive official information from the University’s Registrar's Office and are encouraged to order their academic regalia from the University Bookstore as soon as possible to ensure availability.

Graduation rehearsal will be Wednesday, Nov. 10, at SHM. Graduating seniors should arrive by 8:30 a.m.

Information for Legacy Graduates
As we prepare for your upcoming graduation, we are reaching out to identify legacy students—those who are the children or grandchildren of South Carolina State University (SCSU) alumni. If your parents or grandparents graduated from SCSU, we would like to recognize your family’s legacy during the Fall 2025 Commencement Ceremony on December 11, 2025, at 10:00 A.M.
To assist us in this effort, please complete this short survey to help us confirm legacy students. The information you provide will allow us to invite your legacy family members to participate in the ceremony and celebrate this special connection.
