Angela Canada
Class of 1994
Canada is the principal culinary team leader for Chick-fil-A Corporate in Atlanta, where she created the restaurant's peach milkshake offered during summers and developed other recipes used by the restaurant chain.
She graduated from South Carolina State University in 1994 with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry and later earned a graduate degree in food science at Alabama A&M University.
Canada's story recently was featured by Augusta University's JagWire news site.
James Gilliam
Class of 1973
While stationed at South Carolina State University to teach ROTC, Gilliam used his free time to earn a master's degree in counseling in 1973.
After completing his military career as a professor of military science at the University of Central Arkansas, Gilliam spent a year teaching in Memphis before returning to Arkansas to start his new life as an insurance agent. He took over the Shelter Insurance office in 1987.
