SC State University’s 2024 Constitution Day observance to explore human trafficking
ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University’s Department of Social Sciences will host its annual Constitution Day observance Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Nance Hall 106.
This year’s celebration will feature Taylor Wise, first assistant solicitor in Orangeburg County. She works with the state task force on human trafficking and will give a presentation about human trafficking and the law.
Participation is open to the public.
SC State Constitution Day is observed each year during Constitution Week to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution, the supreme law of the nation, was signed on Sept. 17, 1787. Constitution Week is Sept. 17-23.
A provision in the Consolidated Appropriations Act requires that each educational institution that receives federal funds for a fiscal year hold an educational program on the U.S. Constitution each year for the students served by the educational institution.
