Friday vacates position on SC State Board of Trustees

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Ronald D. Friday has vacated his membership on the South Carolina State University Board of Trustees.

Friday had served on the board since 2020.

According to the Board of Trustees’ Bylaws, South Carolina’s governor may fill a board vacancy by appointment until the next session of the General Assembly.

The Board of Trustees is the university’s governing body, charged by the state of South Carolina to oversee the operation and management of the university. The 13-member board makes decisions regarding policy, the establishment of academic programs, the university’s budget, contracts and the president’s employment.
