Fall 2025 Housing Registration

When can I apply?

  • Application process opens: April 14
  • Priority deadline: May 14
  • Final deadline: June 13

How do I apply for housing?

Before applying, students must complete the following checklist:
  1. Be accepted to the institution: Office of Admissions.
  2. Obtain a student ID number and login credentials.
  3. Register for classes.
  4. Complete the FAFSA for 2025-2026 and/or set up a payment plan.
  5. Pay the required administrative fees:
    • Freshmen & Transfer Students: The housing application fee is included in the $160 enrollment fee.
    • Returning Students: $150

Payment Methods: Fees can be paid using the Transact payment system through the SCSUApps Portal or at the SC State Cashier’s Office on the first floor of the Crawford-Zimmerman Building.

Completing the housing application process:
  1. Access the Housing Portal: Log in to the StarRez housing system using the SCSUApps Portal.
  2. Complete the Housing Application: Fill out all required fields, confirm your housing preferences, and sign the housing contract.​
  3. Ensure All Fees Are Paid: Confirm that all tuition, housing, and other related fees are settled.​
  4. Verify Financial Aid: If applicable, ensure your financial aid package is processed and applied to your account.​

Important Housing Reminders:

  • The deadline to apply for Fall 2025 housing is Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
  • Roommate requests are not guaranteed.
  • The more steps completed from the checklist, the better the chances of securing housing preferences.
  • For any questions or concerns about the process, students can email twill174@scsu.edu.
  • New students must pay a housing fee of $160, have 12 or more credit hours, and ensure that financial aid (FA) is processed in the system.
  • Returning students must have a zero balance, pay a housing fee of $150, have 12 or more credit hours, and have financial aid (FA) processed in the system.
