SC State crowns 2024 Miss and Mister Homecoming
ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Congratulations to South Carolina State University’s 2024 Miss Homecoming Angel Jackson and Mister Homecoming Aaron Smith.
Miss Homecoming was crowned in a luncheon at the Orangeburg Country Club on Thursday. Smith was recognized as the first Mister Homecoming in SC State’s history.
About Angel Jackson
Angel Jackson was born and reared in Yemassee, South Carolina. She is a daughter of Sheila Wilson and Irvin Jackson.
Jackson is a junior political science/pre-law major at SC State. She enrolled at SC State as an early graduate and valedictorian from Ridgeland Hardeeville High School in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
She is a Rev. Clementa Pinckney Scholarship recipient and an Honors College Presidential scholar.
Jackson has maintained a 3.5 Grade Point Average during her matriculation at SC State. She serves as a lead community assistant at University Village and Residential Life and is an active member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre Law Fraternity International. She also organized the revitalization of the Political Science Club.
She is appreciative of the opportunities presented to her at SC State, including being selected as Miss Homecoming 2024. She looks forward to completing her education and being a proud SC State graduate. In her spare time, Jackson enjoys exercising, making ceramics, and reading. Her career aspiration is to become a defense attorney.
About Aaron Smith
Aaron Smith is a senior exercise science major from Manning, South Carolina. He holds a 3.8 cumulative GPA while serving as a leader in numerous organizations and on the Bulldog football team. He is a 2024 White House HBCU Scholar.
Smith already has one SC State degree in his pocket. He graduated in May with his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and reenrolled to complete his football eligibility while finishing the remaining courses for a bachelor’s in physical activity management. He hopes one day to open a gym and become a certified fitness trainer.
As a Bulldog, Smith is a two-time team captain, two-time member of the ALL MEAC conference football team, and three-time member of the All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Football Academic Team.
Smith also has served as parliamentarian for the SC State Campus Activities Board, vice president and now president of the Health and Physical Education Club, a member of the Bulldog's LEAD Program, and a member and parliamentarian of the Xi Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
