SC State SGA to host Vote HBCU ‘Say it Louder’ voter registration event Tuesday

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – South Carolina State University’s Student Government Association will host the Vote HBCU “Say it Louder” voter registration tour on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Fine Arts Building on campus.

A panel discussion will begin at 1 p.m. in Fine Arts Building’s Barbara A. Vaughan Recital Hall with special guest panelist state Sen. Deon Tedder.

The Vote HBCU Voter Registration Festival will take place from 4-8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building atrium. Food trucks will be available on Buckley Street outside the building.

As a Vote HBCU student fellow, SC State senior Victoria Jordan is coordinating the event on campus.

The tour is organized by Xceleader, a nonprofit organization led by HBCU alumni focused on HBCU students, and HeadCount, a nonpartisan youth voter registration and mobilization initiative. Along with SC State, Vote HBCU stops also include Virginia State University, Howard University, North Carolina A&T State University, Shaw University, Claflin University, Tuskegee University, Bethune Cookman University, Florida A&M University and Fort Valley State University.
